My name is Daniela and I am about to enter the exciting world of the publishing business.

I cannot claim to be one of those persons who always knew that they wanted to go into publishing. Fascinated by books, I started my bachelor degree in German studies and comparative literature with the aim to work with books some day. But it was not until my internship with Campus Verlag in 2013 that I realized this is exactly what I want to do: Working in publishing!

Only one year later, I find myself in Cambridge, starting a masters in publishing at Anglia Ruskin University. At this moment, I really see myself working as an editor which is probably due to the fact that I know more about editorial than any other department. But I also cannot help the feeling that this might change during the upcoming year.

This Blog was started in October 2014 at the beginning of my studies in Cambridge.

Broadly speaking, it's about publishing and everything related to the business. More precisely, the blog is about latest developments, important events and my own experiences in the industry. Embedded will be my own thoughts and opinions on current topics. Also, it will accompany my studies throughout the next year including my first steps towards the real publishing world.
